Send an Automatic Google Review Request

Get your Google review link, put it in an email template, and set up an email event that asks every client for a review after the inspection.

Reviews bring in new business. ISN can ask every client for a Google review automatically, a day or two after their inspection is completed, with a link that takes them straight to your review form.

There are three parts: get your Google review link, put it in an email template, and create an email event to send it.

Step 1: Get your Google review link

  1. Sign in to the Google account that manages your business, then search Google for your business name.

  2. In your Business Profile, select Ask for reviews (it may say Get more reviews).

  3. Copy the link Google shows you. It usually starts with https://g.page/r/.

Google changes these screens from time to time. If you can't find the option, Google's own help article on getting reviews has the current steps.

Step 2: Create the review request template

  1. Go to Email > Email Templates and select New Email Template.

  2. Enter a Name, such as Google Review Request, and a Subject, such as How did we do, %clientfirstname%?

  3. Write your message. For example:

Hi %clientfirstname%, thank you for choosing us for your inspection at %orderaddress1%. If you were happy with your experience, would you take a minute to leave us a review? It really helps other home buyers find us. Leave us a review.

  4. Highlight the words Leave us a review, select Insert/edit link, paste your Google link into URL, set Open link in... to New window, and select Save. You can also link an image or logo. See Add Links to Email Templates and Containers.

  5. Select Save Template.

Step 3: Create the email event

  1. Go to Email > Email Events and select New Email Event.

  2. Next to Or start from:, select Ask for a review. ISN fills in the event for you: it emails the Client(s) 1 day after the inspection is completed.

  3. Change the timing if you like. For example, 2 days gives clients time to read their report first.

  4. Under What they receive, choose your review template in Email template.

  5. Check the Sender name and Sender email. Choose Primary inspector next to Sent from if you'd like the request to come from the inspector.

  6. Select Save & Turn On.
