By default an email event goes out for every inspection. Use Inspection scope to send it only for certain inspection types, certain services, or both. For example, send a re-inspection email only for a Re-Inspection type, or notify a vendor only when their service is on the order.
Set the inspection scope
Go to Email > Email Events.
Select New Email Event, or select the Edit (pencil) icon on an existing event.
Open the Inspection scope section. Its heading shows the current choice, for example All inspections.
Choose a mode:
All: every inspection.
Types: then choose one or more Inspection types. The event sends when the order has any of them.
Services: then choose one or more Services. The event sends when the order has at least one of them.
Types + services: see the next section before using this.
Save the event.
Types + services (not recommended)
With Types + services, the event sends only when the order has one of the chosen inspection types and at least one of the chosen services (And at least one of these services). An order missing either is skipped. This is the most common reason an event seems not to send.
In most cases, separate events, one for the types and one for the services, are clearer. Events using this mode are flagged Requires both an inspection type and a service in the list's Needs attention view.
Example: re-inspection emails
Create an inspection type called Re-Inspection. See Add Inspection Types.
If you want a special message, create an email template for it. See Create and Edit Email Templates.
Create an email event that uses that template, and set Inspection scope to Types with Re-Inspection selected.
See which events use a type or service
On the Email Events list, the Inspection types and Services columns show each event's scope, and the search box matches scope too.
