How to Enable Client-Paid FlexFund Fee in ISN

This article explains how to set up the FlexFund feature to charge your clients directly for the FlexFund service fee, instead of including it in the overall inspection fees. The FlexFund feature, available through ISN, is designed to make things easier for inspectors. However, it is the responsibility of each inspector to decide whether and how to use FlexFund, ensuring they comply with the laws and regulations of their state. ISN does not provide legal advice, so inspectors should consult with a lawyer to ensure they follow all legal requirements. By using this feature, inspectors acknowledge that they are fully responsible for complying with the law.

Only clients who choose the FlexFund service will be charged the FlexFund service fee. It will not be added to all orders automatically. If the option is not used, FlexFund will continue to be charged on all orders.

To Enable the Client-Paid FlexFund Fee, Please Follow These Steps:

1. Go to Settings > Office Settings > under My Office Settings > FlexFund Options.

2. Once you're in the FlexFund options, find the setting called "Enable Client-Paid FlexFund Fee" and checkmark this option.

3. After checking the option, a pop-up message will appear displaying the terms and conditions of this feature. "Please read the information carefully. If you agree, click Accept, Otherwise, click Cancel.

4. By clicking Accept, the new feature will be successfully enabled. You’ll notice that the fee called "FlexFund Fee Per Inspection (to client)" will be disabled. This is normal behavior, as only one of these options can be enabled at a time.

5. A new fee will be enabled with the name "FlexFund Service Fee to Client:" (THIS IS WHAT YOUR CLIENT(S) WILL BE CHARGED FOR EACH FlexFund ORDER. )
Please add the fee you plan to charge your client in this section. "Remember, this fee will be fully passed on to the client and will be visible on the invoice.

6. Once you’ve added the fee, the configuration will be complete.

What to Expect with this Configuration:

With this setting, the FlexFund service fee will be charged directly to your client. This makes your billing process easier to understand since the client will see the FlexFund fee as a separate charge on their invoice.

The inspector will still be charged a fixed fee of $50 for every order submitted using the FlexFund system. This fee cannot be changed and will always apply to each order.

Advantages:

  • Clients will see the FlexFund fee clearly on their invoice, which helps avoid confusion.

  • Only clients who choose FlexFund will be charged the FlexFund service fee. It won’t be added to all orders. If you don’t use this option, FlexFund will continue to be charged on all orders.
