What are Report Layouts?
Report Layouts change the way your report is organized and displayed. Some layouts focus more on written comments, while others highlight photos, make findings easier to scan, or show information side by side.
Each layout includes a visual preview card, so you can compare the available options and choose the one that works best for you.
How it works
When you select a layout, the report preview updates right away. This allows you to immediately see how your report will look before sharing it with your clients or agents.
This can help you decide which format is easiest to read and which one best matches the way you want to present your inspection results.
Key benefits
Report Layouts are designed to help you:
Present your findings in a clear and professional way
Choose a format that matches your reporting style
Make reports easier for clients and agents to review
Highlight written observations, images, or findings depending on the layout you choose
Preview changes instantly before finalizing your selection
Additional features
Depending on the layout, your Interactive Report may also include interactive line details. This means users can open more information in a side panel without leaving the main report view.
Report Layouts are also designed to work well on desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices, so your reports remain easy to view across different screen sizes.
Style 1 – Default Layout (Current Card Format)
Style 1 – Default Layout (Current Card Format)
This layout is designed for inspectors who prefer a clear, organized, and detail-focused report style. It keeps information easy to follow while still showing plenty of important details upfront.
In each category, the introductory text is open by default, so users can read it right away without needing to click first. If they want less information on the screen, they can simply select View Less to collapse that section.
Each line is displayed in its own rounded card, which helps separate information clearly and makes the report easier to scan. Inside each card, users can quickly see the line name, description, comments, rating, total media count, and any related media.
One of the main advantages of this layout is that it shows more information immediately. This means users can review the report with less clicking and less back-and-forth navigation. It also feels very familiar because it is the closest match to the layout inspectors already use today.
This format offers a professional and structured appearance, makes written observations highly visible, and presents detailed information right away. It is especially useful for clients who are used to more traditional inspection reports and want everything laid out clearly from the start.
For these reasons, this is the default layout. It provides a strong balance between clarity and detail, making it a reliable option for both inspectors and clients.
Style 2 – Grid Layout
Style 2 – Grid Layout
This layout is designed for inspectors who prefer a more visual and easy-to-scan report. It helps users review information quickly while still giving them access to full details when needed.
In this format, categories are displayed as separate sections, and the lines within each category appear in a grid layout. Up to four line cards can be shown in each row, depending on the screen size, which makes the report feel clean, modern, and easy to browse.
Each card gives a quick summary of the line. It includes the line name in the top left corner and the ratings count in the top right. It also shows the location, a summary of comments, images, and videos, one media thumbnail, the line description, and the line information.
To keep the layout simple and uncluttered, only one thumbnail is shown for each line. A media count indicator lets users know if more photos or videos are available. When a user clicks on a card, a full detailed side panel opens so they can review all the related information.
The main benefit of this layout is that it makes the report easy to scan at a glance. It feels more visual, modern, and interactive, almost like using an app. It is especially helpful for buyers or readers who want quick insights first and then can open more detail only when they need it.
Overall, this layout puts summary first and detail on demand, creating a report experience that feels fast, engaging, and user-friendly.
Style 3 – Large Cards Layout
Style 3 – Large Cards Layout
This layout is designed for inspectors who want a more visual report with a stronger focus on photos and media. It is ideal for presenting findings in a way that makes images just as important as the written details.
Under each category, each line is shown in a large card with media displayed prominently at the top. This can be a large image or a media carousel, depending on how many photos or videos are available. If there are multiple media items, users can browse through them directly within the card.
Below the media, the card shows the line name and other important details. It also includes the counts for comments, photos, and videos, along with rating badges such as Recommendation, Requires Attention, or Inspected. The line description and supporting information are also included to give more context.
Each card is clickable, so users can open the detailed side panel view for more information when needed.
The main value of this layout is its strong visual presentation. Large, easy-to-see images help defects and observations stand out right away. It creates a good balance between imagery and written explanation, making it a great option for inspectors who want photos to have the same importance as their written findings.
Style 4 – Split View Layout
Style 4 – Split View Layout
This layout is designed for inspectors who want to see written details and media side by side in a clear and balanced way. It makes it easier to review information and images together without having to switch back and forth.
Under each category, each line appears in a wide card with a split layout. The details are shown on the left side, while a large image or media carousel appears on the right. This gives equal importance to both the written information and the visual evidence.
At the top of each line, the line name is displayed clearly so it is easy to identify. The card also shows the materials or components, the location, rating badges such as Recommendation, Requires Attention, or Inspected, and the counts for comments, photos, and videos.
Below this section, comments are displayed in separate cards. Each comment card includes a comment image or media thumbnail, the comment title, location, description, and the assigned rating badge. If there are multiple images, users can browse through them using a carousel.
All line sections and comment cards can be clicked to open the detailed side panel view for more information.
The main value of this layout is that it creates a balanced presentation of text and visuals. Photos are easy to see right away, but the written context is never hidden. This helps clients connect descriptions with the visual evidence more easily and creates a clean, modern reading experience.
Overall, this layout is a great option for inspectors who want both clarity and strong visual presentation. It allows buyers and agents to review findings more naturally by showing information and imagery side by side.
Style 5 – Colorful Cards Layout
Style 5 – Colorful Cards Layout
This layout is designed for inspectors who want each line item to stand out more clearly and who prefer stronger visual emphasis on ratings. It helps readers quickly notice important findings by using color and structure in a more noticeable way.
Under each category, each line is displayed inside a bordered card with color accents. The border color reflects the main rating or category style, which makes each finding easier to recognize at a glance. The line name appears clearly at the top, followed by materials or components, location, and counts for comments, photos, and videos.
The card also includes rating count badges at the top, along with overview or description text inside the card. A View details link is included, allowing users to open the side panel for more information. In addition, the entire card remains clickable for quick access to the full detailed view.
The cards are arranged in a responsive two-column layout, which adjusts based on screen size. This keeps the report looking organized and easy to read across different devices.
The main value of this layout is its strong visual distinction. Color helps separate findings more clearly and makes severity levels easier to notice right away. This can be especially helpful for buyers and agents who want to quickly identify areas that may need more attention.
Overall, this layout creates a more dynamic and engaging report style while still keeping the information structured and easy to follow. It is a great choice for inspectors who want their reports to feel more visually distinctive and easier to scan.
Interactive Line Details (Side Panel Experience)
Interactive Line Details (Side Panel Experience)
When a user clicks on a line item, a side panel opens from the right side of the screen. The main report stays visible in the background, slightly dimmed so the user can stay focused on the details.
Users can quickly close the panel by clicking the X, and because the report stays in place behind it, they do not lose their spot or need to move to a different page.
This makes the experience smoother and easier to use, since users can review more details while keeping their place in the report.
