FlexFund provides inspectors with a flexible payment option for their clients. As part of this service, there are two different ways to manage client-related FlexFund fees:

FlexFund Fee Per Inspection

Client-Paid FlexFund Fee

Both approaches impact how the fee is presented to clients and how it is applied to inspection orders.

1. FlexFund Fee Per Inspection

This option allows inspectors to add an upcharge to every inspection, whether or not FlexFund is used.

  • How it works:

    • The fee is bundled into the main inspection fee.

    • Clients will not see a separate “FlexFund” charge.

  • Example:

    • Base inspection fee: $400

    • FlexFund Fee Per Inspection: $20

    • Total shown to client: $420

    • The fee is bundled into the main inspection fee $20

  • Key note:

    • This fee applies to all inspection orders, even those not using FlexFund.

2. Client-Paid FlexFund Fee

This option creates a direct, visible charge for the client, but only when FlexFund is used.

  • How it works:

    • The fee is displayed as a separate line item on the invoice.

    • Clients will see exactly what they are paying for the FlexFund service.

  • Example:

    • Base inspection fee: $400

    • FlexFund Service Fee: $50

    • Total shown to client: $450

    • The invoice clearly shows:

      • Inspection Fee: $400

      • FlexFund Service Fee: $50

Key Difference

  • FlexFund Fee Per Inspection:

    • The fee is bundled into the main inspection fee.

    • Always applied to every order.

  • Client-Paid FlexFund Fee

    • The fee is displayed as a separate line item on the invoice.

    • Only applied when FlexFund is used.

    • Client sees it as a separate line item.

Important Reminder

Regardless of which option is chosen, inspectors are still charged the $50 FlexFund submission fee per transaction. The client-related fee is simply a way to offset or pass along that cost.

Client-Paid FlexFund Terms and Conditions

The availability of the FlexFund feature through ISN is provided as a convenience for inspectors. It is the sole responsibility of each inspector to determine whether and how the inspector may use the FlexFund services in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations in the state(s) where they operate. ISN does not provide legal advice and makes no representations regarding the legality of an inspector's ability to offer or charge for FlexFund. Inspectors are encouraged to consult with legal counsel to ensure compliance with all relevant laws before utilizing this feature. By enabling and utilizing this feature, the inspector acknowledges and accepts full responsibility for complying with all legal requirements.
