The ISN provides two options when sending/emailing your inspection report:  Send Report as an Attachment or Send Report as a Link.

The first option Recommended by ISN, Sending Report as a Link, has multiple advantages.  By sending the report as a link you have the option under Report Delivery Options (in Office Settings) to turn on settings that will not allow the report to be viewed unless the inspection order has been paid and/or the agreement(s) have been signed, as noted within your ISN.  The system is smart enough to prompt the person to sign the agreement and/or pay for the inspection if those steps have not been completed, before it will release the report.  The second benefit of sending your report as a link is the system will track the information and show it on the View Inspection Order information sheet.  The system will note the date and time it was sent, to whom it was sent to, and show you if they viewed the report.  Please note, these features cannot be enabled if sending the report as an attachment.

Sending your report as an attachment allows anyone to be able to retrieve the report whether it is has been paid for or not and/or signatures have or haven't been captured on the agreement(s).  This option is fine if this is how you run your business but, you may have run into the occasional problem of having to chase down your payments and/or signature.  This can be harder to do once someone already has your report and it’s definitely not worth spending your valuable time doing this.

The method of sending the report as a link and of tracking them has been used as evidence and proven by industry leaders to benefit  inspectors when legal issues have arisen.  Many major Errors and Omissions insurance carriers have confirmed that this type of feature should become an industry standard in order for them to protect and represent their clients to the fullest capacity.

Please note, you have the ability to choose how long you want the report to be valid.   Navigate to Settings -- Office Settings -- Interacting with Clients and Agents -- Report Options.

The ISN provides the option to have the report available for up to 10 years and/or Never Expire.
