A Faster, More Flexible Way to Complete Your Reports

Line-Level Ratings allow inspectors to assign a rating directly to an individual line item, without requiring a comment. This feature helps streamline your workflow while keeping reports clear and concise for clients.

Why Use Line-Level Ratings?

  • Reduce time spent on repetitive or non-critical entries.

  • Speed up inspections by quickly assigning ratings without adding unnecessary comments.

  • Provide clients with focused, easy-to-read reports.

  • Comments remain optional — you decide when additional explanation is needed.

  • Line-level ratings can only be created in the Ratings tab within the Comment-Library. This is also the only place where those ratings will appear. At the moment, this is the only feature where line-level ratings can be created and displayed, until additional updates are introduced.

How Line Level Ratings Work and When to Use Comments

Line-level ratings are intended to quickly indicate the condition of an item at the line level, helping inspectors mark whether no issues are present or if a concern has been identified. However, it is important to understand that line items themselves do not contain written content. Because of this, a rating alone will not appear in the report summary. If you need a noted issue to be included in the summary section, you must also add a written comment to that line. In short, ratings help classify the condition, but comments are required for any findings to display in the summary.

How to Use Line-Level Ratings

1. Access Line-Level Ratings

  1. Open your report by navigating to Inspections > Scheduled Inspections.
Locate the order, click Actions, and then select Write Report.

  2. Navigate to the Lines List screen.

  3. For each line item, you will see a Rating option located between the Description and the Comments field.

2. Select a Rating

  1. Click the Rating field for the desired line.

  2. A selection window (modal) will open, showing all ratings available for your template.

  3. Select one or more ratings as needed.

  4. Close the window to save your selection.

Your rating will automatically be applied to that line.

3. View Selected Ratings

  • The first selected rating will display directly in the line-level rating field.

  • If you select multiple ratings, additional ratings will appear in the Summary column, just below the line fields.

4. Edit or Clear Ratings

  • To update a rating, reopen the rating selection window at any time.

  • To remove all ratings from a line, use the Clear Rating option.

Changes save automatically after selection.

5. Ratings in Line Details

When viewing a line’s Details page:

  • You will see a Rating section placed just after the Description.

  • This uses the same rating selection window for choosing or updating ratings.

6. How Ratings Appear in the Final Report

In the final report:

  • Line-level ratings appear in the same row.

  • They are displayed to the left of the line name for clear visibility.
