Have you ever wanted to charge a premium for certain appointments without having to go back in and update the fee? Or would you like to open some afterhours appointments and don’t know how to get started? Well the ISN has got you covered!
We are now offering the ability to set up Premium Time Slots to charge a premium for appointment times that you designate.
Creating a new time slot
1) To get started, let’s navigate to Settings--Office Settings--Inspection and Fee Settings and click on Premium Time Slots.
2) Now, you’ll want to decide if you’d like to apply this fee to a specific fee (our recommended method) or if you’d like to combine it with the primary fee. (Note: Click here for steps to set up a new fee to display separately.) After you've selected your preference, we need to set up the rules for it (the time slots you want the upcharge assigned to).
Disclaimer: We recommend using a specific fee so this upcharge appears as its own line in the invoice and fee section for this inspection. If you prefer to have it wrapped into your primary fee, select "Add to primary fee".
3) To start, give the rule a name, and choose which day(s) of the week these will apply to. Once that is done, select a start and end time, then input a dollar amount to add to the inspection.
4) Make sure you go over the details of it to ensure you have things just right, then click the save button! Then there you have it, you’ll now be making a little extra to put in your pockets!
Note: When applying to a separate fee, the new charge will not reflect until the final step of scheduling when using the online scheduler. We have added a disclaimer to indicate that prices may change to help with this.
Editing an existing time slot
To edit a rule, simply click the down arrow to the right of the trash can to expand it. Make your changes and be sure to hit the save button again!
Final notes: The system will not let you overlap premium timeslots; you can only have one active at that time. If you end up having time slots overlap, you will see this error message. This can be fixed by editing one of the time slots overlapping with another, and you will be able to save them then.
When creating an order through the Order Form, make sure you select the date and time before adding fees to it, so the premium time slot is added to the fee calculations and it is applied to each order accordingly.
You can also change to which fee the Premium time slot fee will apply to from the "Fees" page (Settings--Office Settings--Inspection and Fee Settings--Fees). Changing it on one page will apply it everywhere else.
