You’ll see a detailed breakdown of every action taken during the transaction.
You can also print or email the receipt directly to your client.
Details available include:
Authorized vs. Captured Amount: The Authorized amount reflects the initial sale. If a tip was added, it appears in the Captured total.
Customer Information: Displays any available customer data captured from the card.
Process Details: Shows processing front end, entry method (swiped, inserted, manual), and authorization code.
Transaction Timeline: Displays the timestamp for each action taken during the transaction process.
Transaction Status Definitions
Here’s a summary of the most common transaction statuses you’ll see in CardPointe:
Authorized: The credit card authorization request was processed successfully.
Batched: The sale was sent to the processor and is awaiting batching.
Captured: The authorization was successfully captured by the payment processor.
Declined: The sale was declined by the card-issuing bank.
Failed: The request failed due to a system error.
Processed: The sale was completed successfully, and funds were deposited into the merchant’s account.
Refunded: A transaction that credits a customer for a previous charge.
Under Review: The transaction is currently under risk assessment.
Verified: The card verification was completed.
Voided: A payment that was canceled before batching (usually on the same day before the daily cut-off time).
Note: When a card is used, the transaction is Authorized first, verifying that funds are available. Once confirmed, it becomes Captured, finalizing the payment. After the funds are transferred to your account, the transaction status updates to Processed.
