The ISN has a great feature that allows a user to block off time on their calendar that is not related to an inspection order. To block off time for a specific date, navigate to Calendar -- Add Event.
β
From there, select the inspector or user calendar the Event will affect, by clicking on the arrow of the drop-down box. Follow the prompts to select the date of the event, time frame of the event, title, and description of the event. This Add Event feature also allows you to let the system know if this will be a recurring event or not.
Once the event is on the calendar, the pencil button allows you to edit your event if anything changes or deletes the entire event.
The Events you have added to your calendar will also be applied to your Online Scheduler calendar in order to avoid an inspection being scheduled when the inspector is not available. The inspectors nightly email will also provide information on any calendar events they have scheduled for the next day.
When scheduling inspections in ISN, you may encounter the following message:
"Recurring date cannot be more than two years from the start date."
Why This Occurs
In the past, recurring events without a defined end date could last up to 1,000 years, resulting in an excessive number of database entries. Limiting the range to two years helps prevent this.
Processing extremely long recurring schedules can slow down the system. The two-year limit helps ensure consistent and reliable performance.
Most inspection schedules do not extend beyond two years, so this limit aligns with typical usage and planning needs.
What You Can Do
Adjust the date range
Set your recurring schedule so that it falls within a two-year period from the start date.
Split long-term schedules
If you need a longer timeline, you can create multiple recurring schedules in two-year segments.
